Mick Dwyer is an expert on Salon profitability. He is a book author, app developer and consultant at pricingyourservices.com a company he founded in 2010.
Mick’s previous involvement in the hairdressing industry was as co-founder of Elite Hair Education and as a salon owner/manager with two salons and a team of 25 stylists for over for 21 years.
Mick graduated from the Canadian Coaching Council and was an Australian National and NSW women’s sports coach.
This knowledge and experience in training and management has allowed him to develop systems and training strategies for some of the largest salon groups in Australia.

Peter Baines OAM

Peter Baines OAM, is one of Australia’s leadership experts having road tested leadership the hard way. Peter spent 22 years with the NSW Police leading teams in response to acts of terrorism and natural disasters: Peter was part of the leadership team that responded to Bali after the bombings in 2002 and was called in 2005, to lead international teams in response to the Tsunami of December 26, 2004 in South East Asia. All the time his leadership theories were tested in this trying environment.
Creating sustainable leadership became a passion of his after witnessing the devastating effects of the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami. He was deeply touched by the number of children left without parents by the disaster and was inspired to set up an organisation that could make a significant difference in the lives of these children.
In late 2005, Hands Across the Water was formed to raise funds for, and awareness of, the children of Thailand who were left alone. Today, Hands, has raised over $30 million Australian dollars. Hands, now has operations in seven different locations within Thailand and provide a home to several hundred children every night.
He spent time advising Interpol in France and the United Nations Office of Drug and Crime in South East Asia. Peter was engaged by the Government of Saudi Arabia following the deadly floods in Jeddah, to review their response and provide advice concerning crisis mitigation and leadership. In 2011 he deployed to Japan in response to the tsunami that would claim thousands of lives there.
Having written three books on leadership, Peter’s passions lie in flying helicopters and running ultra marathons. In 2024, to acknowledge the 20th anniversary of the 2004 tsunami, he will run 1320km’s in just 26 days in Thailand.

Where are we going?

Located on the Chao Praya River, the Four Seasons is an urban sanctuary located in Bangkok’s coveted riverside district, where you’ll be surrounded by galleries, boutiques, and restaurants.
When are we going and what is the top level agenda?
Friday 16th August through to Tuesday 20th August, 2024. 3 days 4 nights.
- Friday – Evening welcome drinks
- Saturday – Summit day at the hotel followed by evening dinner
- Sunday – Summit day at the hotel followed by evening dinner
- Monday – Cultural activity where lunch or dinner will be provided, but not both
- Tuesday – Depart
When is the latest arrival and earliest departure?
Ideally you would arrive at some point on Friday 16th August, in time for casual evening drinks. The earliest departure would be Tuesday morning 20th August. You may wish to consider coming in a day early at your own expense if you are concerned about flight punctuality. We can assist in connecting you to the hotel to extend your booking.
How much is a ticket?
Ticket price: $4,500 (AUD) excluding GST per person. Please note that ticket purchases are not included in salon spend for HCG loyalty or other club programs and benefits (Ticket Price). Limited tickets available at this price. Once this allocation has been sold, a new pricing tier will be released.
Two easy payment options:
- Direct payment in full via credit card1 or;
- EFT: $4,500 (AUD) excluding GST upon receipt of a signed Letter Agreement.
Payment plan via credit card1 or EFT: pay in equal monthly instalments with the first payment payable immediately upon returning this signed Letter Agreement. Full payment must be received by 30 June 2024.

- 4-nights accommodation in Bangkok at the Four Seasons
- Breakfast for each of those nights
- Meals (and drinks with meals) included for Saturday, Sunday and Monday with the exception of Monday where lunch or dinner will be provided but not both

What happens if I miss the current pricing?
Haircare Group will endeavour to get additional rooms at the hotel; however, we cannot guarantee the same price and room type will be available.
What will the pricing be if I miss the current price?
We will need to reprice the ticket cost according to the accommodation costs at the time. Therefore, our recommendation is to book and secure the current pricing as soon as possible.
How do I qualify to attend?
You must have a Haircare Group Sales Account. Suggested experience level: Business Owners, Salon Managers, Senior Colourists and Stylists.
Can my life partner come?
You can apply for a Defacto or Spouse ticket at $3000 (AUD) + GST (places are limited). This includes shared accomodation with your partner, tours, education and dinners. Alternatively a spouse or Defacto partner can come and share your accomodation at no cost, but will be unable to join us at any of our evenings, education or tours.
Can my business partner and I share a room?
We do not offer this as we find that people need their space in order to get the most out of the experience.
What kind of room will I have?
A deluxe room at the Four Seasons Bangkok, Chao Praya River.
Do I need travel Insurance?
Yes, you will need to organise your own travel insurance.
Are there any health requirements or Visas?
It will be your responsibility to check Government requirements for any health advice or responsibilities.
Who books my flights?
You will need to book your own flights; we recommend doing so as soon as you book your Business Summit ticket in order to avoid high airline prices.
Who will the speakers be?
We will release the keynote speakers in the coming weeks.
Do we have free time?
There will be some breaks between Summit sessions and evening dinners. Monday night will be a free evening. If you wish to see more of Bangkok, we recommend extending your stay.
Can I bring my children?
None of the formal agenda will be inclusive of children, however, if you are bringing a non-attending partner who will be with children, it is possible to have them come along. The hotel has a small kids club which is complimentary. Current rooms allow for 1 additional child (plus breakfast fee), however if you require a larger room, we could work with you and the hotel pending availability.
What brands are represented?
Whilst this event is primarily a business focussed event, we may still have some representation of our world class brand portfolio, showcasing any product updates or sneak peeks.
What is the format of the Summit sessions?
The Summit sessions will be ‘in conference’ speaker style, potentially with some small break out groups for workshops.
Will I be doing ‘hands on’ hair styling?
No, this is a business focused event.
When will I get my finalised agenda?
We are working to produce the most exciting agenda possible; we will distribute this closer to departure date.
What happens if I need to cancel?
Please contact Haircare Group if you need to cancel due to extenuating circumstances.
What is the weather like at that time?
The average daily temperature for Bangkok in August is around 30°C with a temperature range of 26–33°C. Days are hot but bearable, so you can roam around the city. The combination of humidity and heat will be prevalent this month but still not extreme like in May or June. Rain is likely particularly in the afternoon, but downpours often don’t last long.
How many people are going?
Our tickets are limited at this stage due to Summit offerings. Final numbers are expected to be between 70-100 attendees.
I am a smoker, can I smoke at the hotel?
Yes, there are designated areas for smoking and vaping.
What should I pack?
Closer to the time we will correspond with you with some packing suggestions to suit our itinerary.
When is the last day I can change the name of the person I have booked a ticket for, I am offering it as an incentive to my staff?
60 days before check-in.
What are the cultural activities?
We are working to produce the most exciting agenda possible including a cultural activity. We will distribute this closer to departure date.
What if I want to upgrade my room?
Upgrades may be available but will need to be costed at the time of booking.
Are reservations for the Urban Wellness Centre included?
Access to the Urban Wellness Centre spa is available by booking at your expense, this is not included in the price of your ticket.
